Kath Beattie

Kath Beattie has published several children's readers, stories and chapter books (NZ and Australia) including two in the Scholastic My Story series (Gumdigging and Cyclone Bola) numerous adult short stories and articles and some poetry. Several of her short stories have won or been placed in competitions and a dozen or so broadcast on RNZ. She has self-published a book on grief, Walking Backwards Into Your Future, plus a novel Charged With Man's Laughter. In 2015 Artsenta, The First 30 Years, a history of the Creative Expression Unit set up in 1986 at Cherry Farm psychiatric hospital, was commissioned and published by Artsenta.She taught Creative Writing for several years both through (Adult Education) and privately. She hosts two writing support groups.
